Do you make all this stuff up on your own? she said & I said I had a lot of people working for me day & night & most of them didn’t know it & I’m sure she was impressed until she figured out what I meant later on.

Anybody can make up past lives, she said. The real trick is to make up future lives & not forget you did it.
General Confusion
I used to be pretty clear on what was real & what I made up, but with everything going on in the world, none of that seems to matter, so I just decided to talk less & smile to myself more, so as not to add to the general confusion

He tried hard to tell the truth but it wasn’t always that obvious, so usually he just said the first thing that came to mind.

I used to believe my father about everything but then I had children myself & now I see how much stuff you make up just to keep yourself from going crazy.
